Ford Sedans

Here at Shamaley Ford, people often ask us: what's the difference between the Ford Focus and the Fusion? Well, while there are many similarities between both models as sedans, and with onboard features, there are some differences, mostly in size and technical specifications. That's why we've taken the time to highlight what they have in common, and what's different.

2017 Ford Focus
2017 Ford Fusion

We'll start with the common points. Both the Fusion and the Focus have loads of exterior style, both inside and out. In terms of interior features, each come with available SYNC® 3 which gives you a simple touchscreen on the central display that you can pair your smartphone with the car for access to hands-free connectivity and voice commands, compatibility with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and much more. The same applies for safety and technology, as both sedans provide you with available active park assist, which comes in handy when you're parallel parking or getting out of a tight space, along with a standard rearview camera.

As for the differences, well, here are a few:

  • The Fusion provides more powerful engine options than the Focus, though both are very efficient and potent for their respective sizes, thanks to EcoBoost® under the hood
  • The Ford Fusion has a wheelbase of 112.2 inches while the Focus is 104.3 inches. With that in mind, you'd know that the Fusion offers more legroom and cargo space than the Focus
  • The Focus comes in both a four- and five-door model, giving you a sedan and a hatchback, while the Fusion is only a sedan
  • Finally, the Focus comes in at a lower starting price as the Fusion, but both provide standout value and savings given all the features and amenities you get on each
